How was my trip to The Can Tho floating market

When I planned my trip to Southeast Asia, there was an experience I didn’t want to miss: visiting floating markets. Although I knew that many of them were very touristic, I wanted to experience a real floating market.
In Thailand I couldn’t go, as the Bangkok floating market was only open on weekends, so in Vietnam I  went to Can Tho market from Ho Chi Minh. Getting there took me about 5 hours, with some technical stops.
There were two options: spending the night in a hotel or in a guesthouse. I chose the guesthouse and I don’t regret it. I slept in a tent experiencing the real jungle. When we arrived at the guesthouse, a delicious Vietnamese dinner was waiting for us. . . and I even helped cooking!

Next morning we had breakfast and left at 7 am for the floating market. I think the adventure is not only to see the floating market, but also to appreciate how people live on the banks of the river. Although there were other boats with tourists, I think this market was quite authentic. They sold clothes, fruits, vegetables.
It was good, although I think what I liked the most was the guesthouse experience. . . it reminded me a lot of my days in the Amazon jungle.
